i need to know how create a leather looking texture in photoshop, i have looked for ages and have just given up!! can anyone out there please help me on my journey!!

scan a piece of leather, if you have a scanner. that's the easiest way.

there are a bunch of leather texture tuts online. What I would do is find a good picture online. If you need it bigger use the offset tool in PS to tile it.

and here is a tutorial that can help you get started creating your own... it's not perfect but it's not horrid either. A little tweaking and you can get leather out of it.
