Ok, I made a layout for a client. They liked it but they wanted a wood type theme... so I made a wood type theme... they like it, but I'm kind of skeptical...

so here are the two layouts:

well the first is much better - the second is way to dark and dreary. If you want a good tute on how to make some cool wood textrues let me know.

I really the first one :)

the first one is waaaay better than the 2nd. The 2nd actually
looks like it was from a tutorial itself.

I actually made that myself completely... i like the texture but the layout doesn't mesh very well and unfortunately there isn't a really good way to make that mesh...

oh yeah, ok here's the deal. its a small online store where he sells music, clothes, soon he's going to be selling skateboards and surfboards. He wants the feel of a surf-type atmosphere... hence... the wood... but I just cna't get it to look right... I mean i think the texture is fine, but the layout can't look good with the wood....

oh ok.

but i don't think wood when i think surfing or skating. i think metal, or textures. I think grunge, and rugged.

the colors you have in the 1st are far better suited for all of these
things IMO.

i like the second more, maybe its because i've seen so many of the bright yellow trendy looking objects in the past 10 minutes :-\

Hojo: Yeah I like the wood because its different, but the orange and blue actually kind of fit with the feel of the site... I think...

the second one is what i chose, donno why just kinda liked it more. The yellow and blue seems a bit overused so i chose something different.
