Ok. I'm building a site using Godaddy hosting and using ftp to upload the files.
The problem is when I upload files agian to update them I tell the folder to replace the items, but it will only do it sometimes. Now I have all these duplicated files that won't delete. How can I fix and/ or prevent this problem.

I think GoDaddy's ftp is done in Java. Not sure. I have a host with GoDaddy but never used their ftp.

Try using a free ftp app like SmartFTP (http://www.smartftp.com/).

That has happened to me before. Right click the file and change the settings to executable. It worked for me.

I also experienced the same problem and CXN926's solution worked for me, just ensure the file settings aren't read-only and so forth.

I don't see that on my Pc or on the server.

On the server it says it doesn't allow changing file permissions.

i've had the same problem, ussually i can close out the ftp window and then go back into it and there will be only the original files left over. but im sure that isnt work for you otherwise you wouldnt have more then 1 duplicate. in the future i recommend deleting the older files and then pasting in the new ones.
