... developing an interactive story, like an adventure game, with a fighting game included http://www.flashkit.com/board/images/smilies/smile.gif I am building the layouts in 3D and doing the initial animations, and all help is needed !!! The ideia about the action part would be like this one : http://www.2flashgames.com/f/f-51.htm (http://www.2flashgames.com/f/f-51.htm)
but with armor, more enemies, realistic damage, etc. And also a RPG part merged into the story, like picking up objects and weapons, and character status, like damage, stamina, strengh, etc... Can someone guide me to some good tutorials regarding this type of logic ? The storytelling and visual part will use Comic Book logic, and the gameplay factor will be like Multi choise graphic adventure-action-rpg. Thanks for my delusions ... :)

Heres a render to get the picture :

Thanks for the attention :)
First, the combat game is a good example on what the ideia is;
Side scroll combat with multiple enemies and weapons.
Later on the story, one or two computer controlled characters figths with you.
Second the storyline evolves depending on your choise, of direction,
dialogue, random events, etc. Like this ; the character has many conditions,
vitality, stamina, etc. In one cenario, when you reach a city, if your vitality is less than X, you will become a slave ... if its above you will have to fight or be killed :) . Or if you got an axe another solution etc. I am reading the tutorials in the game department here on kirupa ( very good !! ), but of course, any help is good help :). Hope that this weekend i can post online the first page of the story to grab more attention :), i am working some video for the intro, still thinking in some acting voice ( must call al pacino :) )!!!
Thanks

Director might be useful for creating an online 3D-esque game. Flash is very limited when it comes to 3d online games.

try to learn fist the limitations of the programming languaje you want to use. flash isn't the one for your mega project...

yup, i agree with amps7 and mesiah, Flash isnt what you're looking for...

Director may be... but you need someone that knows lingo or javascript.

Well. Depending on what you really want, it may be feasible to do this in Flash. As people mentioned, Flash can't cope well with 3D, but if the idea is having 3D graphics in a 2d game, as it seems to be, Flash would be fine.

Also, if it wouldn't necessarily be an online game, which I would suggest, since adventures require a bit more dedication than mere webgames, you might want to take a peek at Adventure Game Studio (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/), a wonderful adventure making software.

thanks for the attention people :) The design of the world and characters is 3D but the final visual image is 2D ( vue 5 and photoshop and flash ). The ideia is to try to figure out a way to simulate graphic adventure games in flash :)

Be prepared for hard core AS, then. :)

I suggest you take a look at this game example (http://www.altoids.com/index.aspx?area=game&sitegameid=87&relationid=405), they succeeded in making a fun adventure, with a very simplified gameplay. No wonder it reminds me of old Lucas Arts classics. Graphics, dialogs, everything is very Lucas-Art-ish... :to:

Also, if I can be of any help, let me know.
