cgi form text append

i've searched high and low for a cgi script that will point text from a form and append it to the begining of a text file.

what i am trying to do is let a user update the news of a page that is embedded as an external file in flash. the user needs to be able to simply access a page, type, and hit send.

i'm sure this is easy pie for you guys but i am super stumped. i even tried writing my own script but gcc tore me apart.
