Hi!

I've been searching the web a couple of days now without any results.
Does anyone know if there is a way to do the dissolve into white-effect without the use of flash?

Check: http://www.sksantos.com for examples (the transitions between the pictures)

Peace. Frodo

Try this link:
cached page (http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:EnYUkhUq3L4J:clagnut.com/sandbox/imagefades/+css+fade+photo&hl=en&lr=lang_en&client=firefox-a)

The original page seems to be having some trouble right now so this is the google cache. Hope it helps. I'm not sure on browser compatibility, though it seems to work fine in Firefox 1.5.

EDIT: I was able to get to the original site after I posted this. The link for that is here:

That page might help out a little bit? I could have swore I saw on it a few times some kinds of 'tricks' you can use in IE I know, but they use activ-x controls so it won't work in other browsers. I won't promise that this will help you out on what you're looking for but it's somewhere to look.

Hi! This really doesn't help me. I'm pretty familiar with CSS-opacity, but it does not simulate the effect of "overexposure" where the dark areas seems to remain a little longer then the rest.
