FP Site Layout Crits / Ideas

Just wondering if anyone has any idea's for this current site layout before i start to code it.

lol, well im still doing it as a hobbie in my "spare time", I also might (no promises) code & use this layout for my new site maybe, but hey thanks for the comments mate :thumb:

But it sais "fadedpixel"... I thought that there was no more fadedfixel.com cus you have quit graphic design & webdesign, but that those of us who are young designers should go for it?

Its a rough template.. he probably is just using his old site name as an example. Like lorem lipsum.. I use it, doesn't mean I will on the final copy.

Anyway, its pretty nice so far.

It's sort of plain right now but it will probably be better once you get some content fillers on it :).

yeh be more creative with the navigation instead of just plain normal sized text

@Love Police: With the nav I was thinking of using flash for it & also maybe the header, just so it doesnt have that complete static feel to it.

That would be really nice. Some simple roll overs and a dynamic header would be great :thumb:.

I like it. You have a good eye for colour imo. Seems a bit empty with just one large context box. No side bars? Heh interesting sub heading 'designing flapitudes'. Is this going to be your new logotype?

Yeah i rekon a nice flash nav could turn out good. (just to add some more spice). But the site itself complements itself so well that you dont need any flashy gadgets and stuff, your graphic work is the flashy part of it. :ko: yummy i love shiny eyecandy!

Thanks for the comments mate, I want to keep the content box plain as it is, hence why there isnt any edges to it, I think once it is filled with content that it will work out great. As for the slogan, its just something I made up & like it, so yeah ill use it with that logo thing I have made. :thumb:

The pink mixes well.
The buttons are nice and clean.

Of course, I would've used a darker grey :P

Im loving the new site! The nav works really well, and so do the colours. It would be nice to see a header with rotating slogans, add a little more spice.

@Salamander: Thanks, as for the header & more spice, I have only just began on the links menu, I will be adding some sort of interactivity / animation to the header image too. hahaha lol @ you wondering about my test button PS Tutorials, to be honest their wont be any tutorials I just made up that button, *strokes imaginary beard*

Just a suggestion..try to see how it would go with a black background and instead of that grey for content..maybe a slight blueish grey? I don't know..it just seems that it might look even better that way, although I haven't finished my coffee yet:)

Thanks ditto :thumb:. As for the background colour change, I will experiment with that later once the site has been coded and has some content, having the two greys is a bit dull & like u said a greyblue might look nicey, ill do some tests later & show them.

Looks nice, but wouldn't it be a better idea to seperate the menu and the blue header? It will look nicer whilst it loads that way.

:lol::lol: - I have done it with CSS before, I got a flash header working in a 2 colum layout about 2 weeks ago, but I have deleted it now, I could try do it again?
