I have a image in photoshop, a logo. I have photoshop and illustrator but the image was made in photoshop and not illustrator. Can someone help me on getting the logo into swift 3d v3? The image only uses one color and is pretty basic but I am not too good in illustrator yet so I can't redo it in there.

You can only use bitmaps (raster images) in swift as textures for 3D objects and they won't render unless you output as raster in Swift (can't export to flash vector format). If you are using paths in Photoshop you can export as and illustrator file and import to swift.
so:
bitmap=no, only as a texture
vector=yes

I know I can't upload a bitmap directly into swift. My question, to clarify a little more, is is it possible to take the image I made in photoshop, which is a black shape with a white background, somehow convert it into illustrator so it is vector, then put it in swift.

not sure if there is an easy way to do it. I know flash has a "trace bitmap" option which will convert a picture to vector, but I haven't had alot of experience with Illustrator. Flash's trace option doesn't do a bang up job of tracing either... it's good for approximations, but not for something that needs to be precise.
I'd suggest sticking with photoshop, re-draw the outline of the logo using paths and then export-->paths to illustrator. If you then import the *.ai file into Swift. You can then put the path into the extrusion editor making the shape 3D. If worst comes to worst you can always re-draw it in the extrusion editor... (depending upon the complexity of your design).

just insert the psd into illustrator and manually trace it with the pen tool and then save it as a ai if its a 2 color logo it will be an easy task

why don't you import the path from illustrator to Swift 3d, then you'll have your logo in 3d, and then you can color it according to what you prefer :smirk:

post your logo and I will see if I can trace it for you and export to an ai file so you can use it.

Maybe I am missing something, but import the file into flash, select Trace Bitmaps, export image as .ai (Illustrator format) Play around with the setting to see how detailed you want the vector to be. I hope this helps, If it didn't ignore it and move right along with trying to trace it with ai. (pain in the @##)
