how many pages, and how much, demographics and deadline?
and if you don't want to pay someone you should be working in InDesign or Quark

MAKE SURE HES PAYING YOU RIGHT!
These are expensive: http://www.stocklayouts.com/products/viewby.aspx?campaign=goobro&product=AA&keywords=&templateType=C&setTo=0
But my best bet would be go into Microsoft Word and they have a option of making a brochure

they are really good printers and they have templates that you can design around so you know your working with the right sizes.

no... bad crayon lol
microsoft products are not meant for high quality professional jobs. word processing, ok. but for a brochure its quarks indesign or (for small ones) illustrator. some printers will laugh at you if you present a MS file to them for something like that and charge you to convert it to another format.
