Logo design

Hi guys, I need to design a logo for my work. But the thing is, logo's arent my thing. Could anyone lend a hand or some advice or examples/tutorials? I work at an Internet Cafe and I was gonna put the initials C.W in the logo. Thanks guys!

look at some books like los logos, and dos logos.

well you could use the W as the cup and the C as the handle of a coffee cup which would work for an internet cafe.... I have a few ideas in my head already.

Try doing a google image search for the word logo(s) You will find all sorts of examples. Keep your design simple and not too narrative (or detailed) Use simple, clean shapes and stick to two or three colors any more and you will muck it up. Think of what your work reperesents and then draw 50 simple skethes that relate to any words that might come to mind when you look at your work. Pick a few (3) make them nice and then pick one.

The had kind of the same idea that draino had when I read your post. Maybe draw or model a coffe cup and imbed CW into it, or maybe put C on the left side of the cup, and W on the other. Or even have some steam coming off the cup which spells CW. Just a few ideas,

logos don't always have to have any initials in it... especially if those initials looks bad together... like cw

simp is right... you can come up with a logo that represents your service such as a coffee cup with a keyboard attached, a cup w/ a monitor on the face as if there was a glass screen in it, a cup with a phone line or wifi icon. all these would represent an internet cafe as well as a coffee bean with the options above, then place the name below (not initials) or none at all depending on the aethetics.

if further interested i could produce some roughs (very roughs) in a scan of a couple quick scetches but i think since you know the business better you could come up with something unique.
