Hey I was wonderin what you all thought about graphics tablets. I'm lookin to purchase one, and I know Wacom Intuos seems to be the best, but they're so expensive, so I'm lookin at the graphires now. Is it possible to make great handdrawn animations using a graphire tablet, or not? What other ones you use? Thx

"wacom" or "tablet" will both bring up lots of discussions about tablets.
they're great for animation, and painting, and retouching, some people also use them for vector illustration (but i find beziers harder to control with it).
wacom yadayada.
4x5 is fine, 6x8 is a better size but obviously more expensive. graphire is fine, intuous is obviously better.

I use a graphire 6x8 for animation. It makes tedious, complex fbf animation a lot easier to deal with. Its definately more efficient than an optical mouse. Intuos is better, but you shouldn't have to spend the large amount, just to get small options that are hardly noticeable. Graphire is more than sufficient, but if it doesnt scratch that itch, get an intuos. You dont want to buy a graphire and later regret it and want to buy an intuos, but then you dont want to buy an intuos and find that its not all that good and a graphire would've sufficed.
