i have been busy brainstorming a Portal, I have had two ideas, both are unfinished, but I would like you to vote for the one that you like the best, and the one which has the most potential to pursue in the Future.

The first one is a clean concept, which uses a rounded box layout, and light blue text which contrasts against the Grey/Black quite well.

The second design is a more artistic version, which plays on the MTV kindof grungy style, lots of images and lots going on.

I have called them Clean, and Grungy respectively.

The first is found here (http://www.bensoft.co.uk/testing/wk/wkd_1.png)
The second is found here (http://www.bensoft.co.uk/testing/wk/gungy.png)

Please vote in the poll, and post your comments

The first one looks cleaner than the second one, but the second one features more artists.

both have pros and cons..
(one has pictures, the other lacks.. one's menu is great and easy to be accessed, the other isn't, etc..)
try making something in between..
mixing clean and grungy isn't that hard..
you can do it!

best of luck..

lol, do you want to have a try? I think that my clean one needs to be more lively, but its layout is easier to maintain, do you agree?

you have the right concept.. stick with the clean layout.. just make it more lively. maybe add some PS brushes and stuff... it'll do you a world of wonders..
best of luck!

cheers m8, btw, who actually is under a websense proxy themselves, like at school or college. I am just wondering how useful a bypass would be, and how I would word it to stay on the legal side of things.

ha ha.. i remember websense... last year when i was in school, i had to worry about it. i don't know anything about copyrights and legalities, so i couldn't help you there... sorry

the second one is pretty gross - unless your work looks the same way. Even then, I have seen sites by 'MTV' designers that are clean and nice to look at. I would not tryto over power your work with all that gothic type.

I'm really not a fan of either one. Could you possibly do another?

Boon Dock, do you mind showing me some sites, that I should use as reference to build my third option? Thanks a lot

Are you just looking for sites that are portals, or sites in general with good design?

Any site where you think maybe I should be looking to take inspiration from. You say that you are not a fan of either, so I am curious to your tastes, so I can either redo one, or start a completely new one. Thanks
