hi, a client just asked me to make them an animated screensaver for their computers in the office, Im thinking in doing it in flash of course, perhaps with some AE....but I have some questions because Ive never do this before.

1-After I make the animation, which is a good program to convert the swf into a screensaver? better if its free :snug:

2-how big should the file be? (I know it depends in the computer speed but tell me a good number)

3-how much should I charge? Probably its going to be one day of work

4-Anything I should know about this?

Thanks!

well, i searched around and found THIS (http://www.gold-software.com/SuperFlashPlayerManager-file930.html)
not sure how good it is though

as for a price, i would think you would get a considerable price for the amount of work, since its something going on all the computers and that they'll see all the time

can't wait to see what you come up with :thumb:

I suggest you get MDMs Zinc it has many features, just add the purchase of the appt to the price of the screensaver.

You should charge a considerable amount since remember its gonna be displayed on various computers yet maybe even available for download on their site. If your using video and 3D software I'd say like 1.5k is a considerable amount.

Theres also screenweaver which I think now is opensource but it doesnt have all the nice features Zinc has.

Check it out here http://www.swftools.com/tools-details.php?tool=1269471475

Good Luck ;)
