I used to have one of those.. if I remember right you have to make the php a .gif (or .jpg) and put some .htaccess file in the folder with that .gif and the images to rotate which says that any .gif's in that folder are actually .php's. Theres lots of info on these at google.com.

Nice, btw.. I like the green best.

use http://site.com/image.jpg

this is called VBcode - there's a reference you can use here:http://www.kirupa.com/forum/misc.php?do=bbcode

Well if VBCode has a way around it I would just use that.

The making it a .jpg is just away to get around the [IMG] tags, because they don't let you use .php. So what you do is just rename the php extension to .jpg, and use the .htaccess to say things in that directory are parsed through php, so its just like masking its true nature. But I would think some versions of forums allow different ways so people didnt have to go through the trouble.

Some random sig code will work without renaming the php to a .jpg, but I dont know if yours would. If you search google for: random sig, you will find some that can.

Anyway if you do try this rename thing, make a .htaccess file in notepad (save as unicode or w/e) and put this in it: ForceType application/x-httpd-php

Are you seeing the little red cross too? I am thinking that the host you're using has disabled hot-linking (I think that's what it's called, something like that anyway), resulting in a site not being able to include content from another.

You may need to get another host if that's the problem.

Edit: The img tags do let you use php. And you don't need to do anything with the .htaccess file. I'm afraid you're just completely wrong.

When I used the .jpg extension in the example, it really was an example. just stick the link to your php file between the [img] tags.

right...I couldn't see it because I was in firefox, just changed over to IE, and I see the red x :(
I can't find a decent host that does PHP and is free. Any ideas where I could host it?

//EDIT:

just stick the link to your php file between the [img] tags.

I've done that
