i followed a tutorial about making business cards in photoshop. I used cmyk colours as instructed and also a resolution of 300. Everything looked fine as i created the card. The final instruction was to save the image as a tiff - i did this also.
ok, when i checked the tiff image in my picture viewer, the colours are different (although oddly, i like the result)
i am sening in a screen shot so you can see. Why is this colour different as as tiff?
thank you.

hmm well i just did a test .tiff and i didn't get the same problem as you... my colors came out the same.
so the tiff in the picture viewer is different to the tiff in PS? maybe you've got some color adjustment in photoshop: if you go to Edit > color settings, you'll see the top box is called "settings" (well in CS2 it is) and if you've got a special one of those selected, it could be adjusting what you see in photoshop.

When i open the tiff in photoshop, the colours are fine - just in picture viewer they look different. I just phoned a printer out of curiosity and he said it would probably be fine if it looks ok in photoshop. So i suppose it will be ok :)
thanks

what viewer are you using? i think windows image viewer shows some of the file formats strangely, eg. png's and tiff's (alpha and sometimes colour).
If its fine in photoshop, then dont worry.. you could check out the image in adobe bridge to see if it look ok there or if you want you could check out 'IrfranView or acdsee for alternative image viewers which handle more formats correctly.
