How can you make a graphic like this ? Is this illustrator or do you use a particular prog ?http://www.mikaelfalke.com/artefakt/vec.gif

looks to me like they've made an abstract object in any 3d program and then rendered the wireframe....
although, all the paths only go in one direction, which is a little weird...
you can kinda get the same effect in illustrator if you treat it as a 'spirograph' - those old toys where you draw shapes and repeat them heaps.
so if you look at the lines that reach down the bottom, they're all the same shape just rotated slightly... you can do this relatively quickly by drawing the first one, rotating it and then using Ctr+D (PC) to duplicate the effect.

Yeah, i've tried this but the spirograph idea is good, do you know any plugin that do that ? Or is it something simple to do with a 3d program (i don't know nothing about 3d except primitive material :D )

when i said spirograph, i meant that as the concept behind it.. you don't need a plugin, just do what i described and that'll give the same effect.
i'm not great with 3d either, but the problem i forsee is that you won't be able to get the lines to just go one way, it's always meshes with 3d rather than just one-way lines (well that's all i can do).

can be done in:
photospop cs -> 2 or 3 defined patterns -> clever brush settings -> 20 min. time.

great but could you be a bit more specific :)

hints:
pen tool - you do some smooth swiggles and get a path. Then you define a round brush e.g. 2px 1% spacing and storke this path with it
Patterns or better way Brush presets - you make a brush preset out of what you get
Brushes - shape dynamisc with a brush that you created
the hard way
multiply the layer with your stroked swiggle and rotete it. more control but lots of work ...

It almost looks like something made with a fractal flame editor like Apophysis…

Aye, or ask one of those Flash experts on the forums who know their bit of AS and a tad of math to do a little script which does this (i'm thinking of Pom, but I'm sure other people could do it)

I'll try what you explain berg. I downloaded apophysis, it seems to be a great tool !
As for for the actionscript, it would surely do this, i've seen similar things to this graphic made in processing (btw, check out the artwork made by casey reas with processing, really impressive : http://www.groupc.net/ ) but i prefer do it by myself, kind of a challenge ;) !
