i like it! it's nice and clean, and has this business feel to it aswell. Question, when you make this into an actual site, what do you use, CSS or Tables?

Thanks for the comments, I doubt I will extend this site anymore, most likely it wont be coded as I have no reason to code it. However if I were going to code it, id problerly try use CSS as I have been leanring a bit of that, although this site would work nice with tables as well.

I asked, since i'm having major problems with my site, i want the background shadow, however when more text is added to the site, it' seems that the whole desing breaks up, idealy id want it to extend the content area vertically without breaking the design!

Looks clean and effective, more corporate than anything else. Nice simple design Ben.

the right side looks completely separated from the left. the space below the logo is awkward.

Nice layout, and good colors. I'm not sure about having the logo to the right of all the content though.

love it. The contrast of the blue section and the rest is nice too, works out perfectly.

It looks nice, but seeing your past designs, and this one too, I'd try and move away from the "bloggy" kind of style you have been developing lately, especially if you plan on selling them to non-blog clients. But thats just my opinion...
Design-wise it looks great, I especially like the right hand panel, tres sexy.

I agree ^
The colors on the right also do not match the colors in the photograph, there's not continuity so it looks like a completely separate element. The photo appears to be too tall on conjunction with what you are trying to do and only accentuates the awkward space below the logo.
I like the colors you did pick.
I also agree that these blog style sites won't really sell to corporations. Perhaps for "trend" related websites, but for example a credit adjuster wouldn't be prone to a website like this.
I think it's awesome you are experimenting around and your work lately has a lot of good colors.
I'd go back and work on this one a bit more.

Thanks for the comments mate, as for the 'bloggy' feel, I didnt try to intend to do this, its just how it turned out I guess, Another thing, this layout is just for fun, wont ever be sliced & coded, just messin in photoshop.
I agree ^

Thanks for the nice indepth info PR, appreciate it, as for the photograph not matching the colours, I have never really thought about that (matching photograph colouring with site colours) however will experiment with this, again this site isnt or wont be for a client, Im not doing anymore client work as I do this for a hobby, to show myself what I can do, :thumb:

dude, looking at your other work.. you have great attention to colour and detail. one thing i would suggest is find a way to keep all aspects of the site flowing nicely from one into another. there really shouldn't be any separation between areas. don't worry.. it's something i struggle with too.
but again i say..
SEXY!!!

yeah keep at it man - you got a good color eye - but yeah flow it together :)
experimenting is the best way :)

Nice work Ben. But I've noticed that for all of your filler, you only use the words "Lorem Ipsum" and nothing else. It looks choppy then... Try actually taking text from this website:

You'll be glad you did. It will add another level of professionalism.

Hmm its nice, I like the colour scheme. I like the menu bar, but not too keen on the sort of 'bevels' as the white part transfers to the blue part. I personally think that the blue area is lacking, the logo doesnt give me a good feel of the sites potential and there seems to be a lot of empty space. Overall nice work, look into adding the actual lorum ipsom text rather than lorum ipsom repeated over and over, it'll definately help us get a feel for the site.

I like it I think it looks different with the logo kind of seperated from the rest of the site, this is the best piece of your work you have posted here in my opinion :)

There's also a cool apple widgit for your Dashboard if you have 10.4:

And there's a cool Applescript that can insert it into any app through the services menu.
