What do you guys think about this movie? I was very surprised when I saw it for the first time. The way the movie was made, the atmosphere, the texts, the music,... everything is just amazingly well done! Only the ending was a bit weird and unexpected, but it didn't really bother me. From the beginning to the end, this movie got my full attention. I never even had the chance to think about something else. Very, very well done.
Before watching it, I didn't expect much. I even thought "Ugh. Stupid colours." when the names (director, actors, etc) came up, before the story. To those who didn't see it, I strongly recommend it. It's a special one...

I own the DVD ;) I too liked it, but I also know a lot of people that disliked it, so as usual, it just falls on personal taste :)

I agree that it was a good movie, but when you think about it the whole movie didnt make any sense. Good acting, good story but I don't think the writers looked into every angle. Check out what Maddox says about it: http://maddox.xmission.com/signs.html

It was the first "scary" movie I ever saw in a theater, cuz I hate being scared. So I was pretty impressed with it, as far as not just being stupid and scaring you, but actually having a good plot and story to it. On a scale from 1 to 10 I'd say it's pretty good.

i kinda liked it regardless of the criticisms it received. but i have to say, MADDOX is right about it though. if i had three thumbs, i would give it one thumb up.

Hehe, yep, what Maddox wrote is actually very true! :) After watching the movie, I had one of those deep after-film conversations with my mates. A lot of those things that don't make sense were mentioned. The most stupid thing is probably the reaction of aliens with [SAY NO TO SPOILERS!]. He's right, the movie goes nowhere, but the atmosphere and the close-ups like he said, make me and other viewers wonder what's going to happen, what Mel Gibson sees, what happens during the night, etc.
Very well done, but even the great Shyamalan didn't get his story 100% I guess. Just like Unbreakable, but I thought this one sucked. The Sixth Sense is a piece of art though.

Ah, I musta skipped that post, didn't notice it.
But at least Kanjiku was a bit more obscure as to what he was talking about, so even though you may think you know, you don't know for sure :P
Either way, it shouldn't of been brought up ;)
Hehe, I should edit the first post of this thread to say "WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD" that way people who didn't see it but want to know that it can spoil it.
But honestly, I don't think that many people here that wanted to see it, but didn't yet, because it has been out for a while.

I thought they ruined the ending even though I definaitly liked this flick...
I thought it was insanely suspenseful throughout the whole movie. Once they showed "it" there was not much left..

Oh, yeah, dammit. I didn't want to reveal too much in my first message, but after that I kind of forgot and just wrote what I wanted to say. :)
I edited my previous message as well. (-:

It's worth it to just go see it man.. Trust me...
As for the movie itself.. yeah I felt the same way you guys did with it... But all in all.. It's a good movie and it's worth some shelf space... I enjoyed watching it and it was worth the $15 I paid for the DVD :) Especcially the extra bonus features :beam:
But... What do you guys think the best shot in the film was.. Like the scariest image...
I'd have to say the very first time you see one.. You know.? I was like.. Woah... Good shot.. :)

Well, instead of one "shot", I have a favourite scene... one of them was when Mel goes in the crop field at night. And suddenly... Liked it. :)
Also, the Brazilian TV news report was kinda cool too. :)
