I just finished this site for a catering company. It's my second flash site.
Tell me what y'all think. Keep in mind that the color scheme is of the client's choosing. http://culinaryartcatering.biz/

theres a site? I dont see it, just some masking animation and thats it?
*EDIT* Im using FireFox and I wait like 20 secs and nothing happens, all i see is that fruit thingy and two purple boxes, all not centered so I guess its not FF compliant....

I like the intro and the background design and when the pink comes up. But once the pink dissappears it looks too plain and empty. The nav rollover is cool but the font is boring. Too much white space, doesn't really pop out as a catering website to me. The links to the centerpieces are too small, but i like the transition and thumbnail rollover. If you want to keep the site white it might be better just to ditch the gray border and have a more fluid site with just those background design and content placement to have a cool composition.

I'm using FireFox too and all that I see is the two pink boxes swooshing across the page and that's it. I've been waiting for something to happen...but I'm not seeing anything. :( Looks like it has promise though from what little I saw.

For the font at the bottom I used one from Fonts for Flash. I did anti alias and make it dynamic. It looks fine on my Safari browser. For some reason certain aspects of the site appear different on certain browsers.

To make sure a website works in all web browsers a web standards validation service like this site is useful (link). (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fculinaryartcatering.biz%2FC ulinary%2520Art%2520Catering%25202005_content.html )
As that says, "embed" isn't considered "Web Standard" HTML, so browsers like Firefox that follows web standards closely will have problems. Try replacing your embed code with this:

<DIV ALIGN="CENTER"><OBJECT TYPE="APPLICATION/X-SHOCKWAVE-FLASH" DATA="Culinary Art Catering 2005.swf" WIDTH="100%" HEIGHT="100%">
<PARAM NAME="MOVIE" VALUE="Culinary Art Catering 2005.swf" />
<PARAM NAME="QUALITY" VALUE="HIGH" />
<PARAM NAME="MENU" VALUE="FALSE" />
Your browser does not support <A HREF="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi" TITLE="DOWNLOAD THE FLASH PLAYER" ONCLICK="WINDOW.OPEN(THIS.HREF, '_BLANK');" ONKEYPRESS="WINDOW.OPEN(THIS.HREF, '_BLANK');">flash</A>

or you currently have this technology disabled.
<P>Culinary Art Catering 2005</P>
</OBJECT></DIV>

I think that's all, just modified one of my own... Hope that helps.
Checked out your website in IE and it looks very nice :D Very clean and love the swirly circles.

I think that the site was good. Also the color scheme worked real well. Your growing swirls worked very nice as they were used through out the site. The only thing I would do or suggest doing, is to choose a better font. Other than that, kudos.

Nice animations and colour scheme. The links to the centre pieces are unreadable and it does look empty.

The fruits make me feel sad :(

I like the colours, but it does seem a little awkward, perhaps from a lack of transitions?

Thats an amazing for your second site mate! nice job!" -- I love the little transitions, although one crit would be that the logo - is hidden under the alpha white box once the site is loaded --put the logo above the site to make it more visible.

K. Yeah that not loading in Firefox thing is kinda annoying but it works fine in IE6.

A couple comments...
On the Centerpieces page. you should make the thumbnails hover into the section on where it button is. when you mouse over one of the options on the right. the little thumbnails have to travel too far, adn when it appears over the watermelon section it looks a little odd.

Also but a little space before your name where it says site designed by.
