Hey guys,
I've recently done a website for my Fraternity here in Austin, Texas. I used some basic design and some open source flash from Levitated. I was wondering if anybody had some tips that I could polish up the design with.
The content right now on the front page needs some changing for sure and I'll get on that soon but any help from you professionals is much appreciated :).

Call me old fashioned, but I'm not a big fan of cut and paste websites, even if what you're copying is open source. If I were you, I'd stick to what I know, or I'd get to know the code well enough to modify it and incorporate it more meaningfully into your site. Right now it's just decoration, which to me is a little bit of an insult to Jared Tarbell's work.
If you're hooked on the fly-through navigation, take a look at how this site modified the idea to suit their needs:

It's not an amazing site, but at least it's adapting the script to its needs.
Good luck.

Well I am a bit of an amatuer, and I did do most of the site myself. For me personally I like the flash banner because it helps the site get across some basic words that we would associate to our organization. I think the flash is very versatile as a way if exposing someone to themes while not making them read too much.
But the reason for my post was more to get more help on things that could polish the site out.

everyone has to start someplace...but I guess you're an expert right???
I liked the site, sure the fly animation has been done before but I thought it went quite well with the layout, the navigation buttons could of been a bit bigger (maybe add say 3px padding to each so they are bigger??).
apart from that I liked it interesting subject the site is on too :)

I didn't mean to come across as too harsh or whatever, I just think that the advantage of using actionscript on a page is that it's a simple enough language for anyone to learn... you can just jump into it and be creative.
I think the rest of the site is solid, it has a nice sort of blog-like look, although if I had to make a suggestion it would be to tone down the default blue of your links to make them match the nice subtler color scheme of the rest of the page.
As far as the Levitated thing goes, maybe an improvement would be as simple as increasing the sort of floating speed and decreasing the height of the whole thing. At the moment, I think it looks disproportionally large as a header. You could easily make it less like an applet and more like a nice dynamic header by just shrinking it down, tweaking the colors, and making it browse through itself a little faster. At the moment I think it's just not integrated into the page well enough. And I only say that because it's obvious that you know what you're doing when it comes to formatting.
Good luck again.
