First off the image of your dog is 895KB! And it's like 100x150. Resize and compress that like crazy, you're waisting SO MUCH bandwidth.

The content in your portfolio is VERY impressive, but the site doesn't do you justice.

Personaly, I would suggest starting over and going for a much more clean approach. Loose the dated Matrix effect, and get some good colours to work with. A new font would also help. There's a lot to be worked on in this site, probbably more work than it would take to start fresh. But like I said, you have great work, I just hate to see it presented in a less-than-great fasion. I would suggest taking a look at some pro portfolios out there and see how they're made, if anything, for insperation.

Good luck.

Nice start. Could really use an on/off button for the background sound. Also, try not to over-use the sound fx for EVERY button click.

Another note: could use a different tyepface. Serif fonts are much harder to read.

Like I said, great start, but could use a little more work.

The best source I find inspiration I find are from award sites. That way, you got a BUNCH of links to look through:

www.internettinyawards.com
www.favouritewebsiteawards.com (favorite)
www.DOPEawards.com
www.fcukstar.com
www.gouw.nu

Hope you can find something with those links :thumb:

thanks for the links ace893, i found them good also for inspiration,

Well i personally didnt get as far as the loading screen, i have dialup at home and waited 5 minutes and still it wasnt loaded, so i left. you may want to take dialup people into consideration as some businesses, not many but some still dont and wont use broadband. try to accomidate for all people as best you can. As a designer this is sometimes a real pia but you could be losing business in the 5 or so percent that will leave your site because it takes forever to load.

Just a thought.

If you are really worried about those with dial-up people, have a low-bandwidth option for your site.

Otherwise, just have a detection script that can detect their speed and send them to a page telling them to get with it and get high-speed (don't give me that "I can't get cable out in the country" thing since Dish-Network office highspeed)

i agree with ace. needs a music off button badly. I would also make your audio stereo, it always sounds better (there's a option when you right click ur sound in ur flash library) I make all my music etc. stereo on my sites, it makes it so much better. I would use less gradients, and less transparent things :) Good start though.

Cheers!

Off button for music, and a whole new design is what I would suggest. (sorry for the loss of your dog, but I wouldn't dedicate a site to him especially if you are going to use it to get a job etc.) Also on that note, I would suggest a little more work in photoshop to clean up the "graphic" skills that you say you have, because with the site it looks like you are lacking or that you didn't want to take the time to develop something. Not saying you don't have the skills, just by the looks of the site it doesn't show well for you. Also, get a clean easy to understand loader instead of using the matrix effect as a loading screen, not the most professional approach. Keep at it!
