Age Effects

Hello. I do not have photoshop or anythin like that, so I need some help. I want to alter my site's apperance so it look aged and went through a war. I want the "chrome" parts (silver) to look rusted and chipped away, showing wiring in small places. I would also like the background to look faded and dusty with a bullet hole or two in it. any and all help would be great. Thanks.

so what are you using? often you can replicate the same effects in other programs with a bit of effort and a workaround or two. Find some tutes about it and see how much you can adapt to your program, i think it shouldn't be too hard.

I just used flash to make the site. I don't have any good drawing/picture editing programs for this sort of job.

You can download the Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/) for free. It's available for *nix, Mac OSX and Windows.

Then try a search for Gimp Tutorials Rust -- or wires or whatever you want to do. I'm sure you'd find something. Or you could always find a photoshop tutorial that you like and try doing the same with the Gimp -- they're different, but it's not so different that you couldn't follow the PS tut.

i did some tutorials after downloading photoshop. I made a rust effect, but no i want to take that and actually make it a texture or somethin so i can just highlight a part of an image and add it to it. Any ideas? :puzzled:

hey im getting photoshop right now so i will make it ok i have made something similar to what u want you but have to make a logo for my company noobz r us and i will edit it with photoshop to make some other cool stuff to it oh and can you unblock me from aim for i could send you the pic
