...With joy, as a brand new spanking Wacom Graphire 2 has just landed on my desk.

I'm taking the afternoon off to play with my new toy. :bad: Well, all the managers are in meetings, they'll never know...

Hehe.

Sorry, I mean I want to make Churchill pictures as good as humanly possible. Of course that's what I meant. Yes.

Sweet.. love my Wacom. I have an Intuos and I just love it. Simply nothiing like it. Now, if you want to go absolutely wild... go get Painter 7... it will blow your mind away.

I got Classic Painter on CD with the tablet but I haven't got round to trying it yet. I guess I've been too busy playing with Photoshop. Mine's a Graphire 2... Think I'm lucky enough that the company shelled out for one at all. :)

Soul, I posted this in another thread, but this is my first ever drawing with it... Hopefully I'll get a bit better than this. :)

you are crazy, that is really neat. I would love to have the skill to just paint stuff like that....

I actually rather like the pose he's in, I might try and make this a bit better. The Wacom kind of lends itself to sketchy, mood drawing. Like heavy rain kind of inking... I might see if I can turn that one above into something a bit more atmospheric... :)

It's really good though, this tablet. I have always wanted one and now I have!

Man, I want one of those... one of the developers I'm going to be working with is in a different state, and having a tablet would really help with using netmeeting to discuss mock ups and stuff...

£65 or thereabouts. Not that I paid for it myself... :)

Yeah, I was just looking up prices... I have to pay for school next month, so I can't afford it right now. But what's the difference between the pads that are around 300 USD and the cheaper ones? I just want something that will let me draw dot's on screen, but I don't see the purpose of getting an expensive one.

I got the Wacom Graphire 2, which isn't top of the range, but is still very good quality. So far it's proven excellent. I'm just doing a re-working of that image on the first page now, and it's getting easier to handle the pen the more I use it.

Here's the latest update of that picture. I opted out of using colour, I think the black and white just looks better on this kind of sketch. :)

I know, it's still FF7's Vincent. I guess he's just easy to draw...

Raf.. you can get one for like 80 bucks off thenerds.com
The expensive ones have more levels of pressure sesnsetivity and other assorted nifty features... also some of them have actual monitor display things on them

The Graphire is an excellent tablet to start you off.

It's proving to be very good. Definitely suited for a certain style. And it means the end of scanning in my drawings, I can just do them straight in Photoshop. :)
