hi y'all

i was just wondering why ppl use an external rendering program... i know that in the movies they do, and also i was reading a forum and someone said "your models are always good but your renders are excellent!"

am i mistaken in thinking a render is just choosing a camera angle and pressing the button? how can an external program (like povray) be any different because it's still using the same data, right?

thanks
Stuart

Hm, I use this external Render in Cinema 4D, but not really on purpose. But I can tell it, this external render is awfull slow...

yeah but slow = better rendering...
Besides, any renderer nowaday is slow ESPECIALLY if you use caustics and even more radiosity...
Rendering is actually much more than pressing a 'render button'; you have to choose the right format you're gona use, the size of the movie, the pixel ratio, saving layers of info (pixel depth or lighting) etc etc....
Besides, placing a camera at the right spot to get all the power of the 3d image is also an art...
