Rules -
- Rule 1: there are no rules. Anything goes, but the following.
- There could be no racial, sexual, copyrighted, or just down right bad content in the presented entries.
- There would be absolutely no ridiculing, diss's, bash's, whatever you want to call it, but just don't discourage any of the work that has been submitted.
- Kirupians are allowed to group up for projects.
- Multiple entries are not allowed. Only one entry per category.

Here are the categories that you could enter in.

Web Design
Flash
2D/3D Animation
2D Stills
3D Stills
Programming
Vector Art

There is going to be three additional awards that you could win,
Best Implimented (Making the best of the programs that you have)
Best Concept (The best idea, or thought. Something that makes think, or just plainly makes you go.......w00t.)
Best Of Show (The best overall work that has been entered.)

Note:
You could submit new work, or even old work that you have completed prior to this battle. And if someone has helped you in any way, please mention them, every bit counts you know.

__________________________________________________ ___________

Battle Of The Arts - It's where all kirupians could enter their work and art. There are no limits to what you could do, there are no themes that you have to follow, and the best thing is, you're not lomited to using specific programs. People could team up, and work on projects together. So just feel free to express yourself, and come up with the best piece of work imaginable.

but the most important thing is, HAVE FUN!!!!

First off, I want to say what's up to everyone. I've frequented kirupa.com for a while now but oddly enough never really got into the community! I was very inspired a couple of nights ago after checking out the battle section. Much of this community has some impressive work. The battles look fun and it should be good practice.

More importantly, I've been throwing around some ideas for a concept that I could implement in this battle. Can't wait to compete and see the other entries.

ar
September 7th, 2005, 10:22 AM
Welcome to the forums!
Nice to see people so interested in kirupa forums, just because of the battles.
Oh, and sparky, I'm going to write more guidlines about the battle, so you're going to have to explain a little more about your entry, like what you used to make it, etc.

So do we have any other participants? I really want to submit something for this battle but i'm not going to bother if there isn't any competition!

ar

There are going to be more people in this, since school is just starting for many. That's why the voting starts in November. If needed, the due date would be moved forward, but other than that, you guys/ladies(the few that are out there) have two month to put in an entry.

that looks cool boondock... how did you get the particle effect on screen ? did u use any filter ?

BoonDock

The particle effect was just created using a normal brush, and adjusting some settings. Then adding a motion blur on a layer below the particles...(that make sense?)

theflash
October 14th, 2005, 04:05 PM
ok... Got that part... Thanks for sharing.... and how about the stripes over the laptops... ? let me guess did you use selection + some filter... did you use liquify ?

BoonDock
October 14th, 2005, 04:56 PM
Nope, it was a selection and a bunch of different filters(but actually no liquify filters etc.)...something like, mosaic, then a lot of motion blurs, then some different layer options and voila!
