It works, but the rotating... things.. are very jumpy, and I can't read a thing.

I think the concept is very nice except:
1. the menu items: the font isn't shap // easy to read. And I think one easily is going to miss a menu-item.
2. when a item is activated: that font isn't sharp and well chosen in my opinion.

a complicated design
u should try using pixel fonts and focus more on getting the message across

Like the others have said...the font is a bit hard to read....it blends in with the complexity of the entire site. But it's a really cool concept...good work :thumb:

It looks good but I have to agree about the font. Other than that, I can only see a couple of things that I'd want to fix:
1. The letters on all the cogs are a bit confusing - it's not clear if they're supposed to be sub-menu's or just part of the design. Some will rotate and others won't. What do all the letters signify if anything?
2. If I mouse over one of the text buttons, the dotted lines quickly appear, then just as quickly disappear, and then they start to be drawn slowly.
3. The two "T" buttons at the top (to the right of About this Site) are confusing. The one on the left operates the About This Site menu. However the one to the right of that (second on in) operates the Useful Contact Details menu - however- the T button on the right also rotates as part of the animation. In fact, half of the second button (the left half) operates the About menu, while the other half operates the Useful menu. The button in the lower right corner, News, Gigs, Releases, also acts slightly different from the one in the lower left, Music To Listen To, (try mousing over the larger hooked wheel on both buttons and you'll see what I mean - the one on the right only animates when one of the small cogs is highlighted)
Other than that, it fits on the page just fine and the display seems okay. I like the idea of using Babbage's Analytical Engine.

i dig the idea, but it doesn't seem very fluid to me. i like the drawings and the wireframe look.. very neat!
