Ok, this is very bazzaire to me. I know PNG supports transparency, but why in the world is it when i save images in photoshop to PNG format and set the background as transparent, it still gets a grey background, what is with this?? Anyone notice this, or something else wrong? I use version 7 by the way.

Are you using the "Save-As" method or the "Save for the Web" method? It shouldn't matter, but just in case you tried one but not the other. Also make sure there isn't a layer of grey that may be invisable or something in the image.

IE does screw up transparency in PNG's try opening it with firefox :) Or just open up the PNG file in photoshop and check if the transparency is there.

IE I think supports it now, so if you have the latest one it should work. Otherwise you can bring it into flash or back into photohsop like Vxir said and copy it into another picture to see if the transparency works.

ace - it's IE7 that supports it; it hasn't been released yet. (It's in beta, but I'm not sure if it's a public beta or not ;))

I dont see why your mocking IE, When IE 6 was released the .png format wasnt as largely used as a webstandard as it is today, hence why IE6 doesnt support.
IE7 does support .png transparency and it works very well, the IE7 Beta isnt a public release as yet, the BETA 2 which is a public release will be out soon.
