LoL well this is more of a showcase. I just got my cards in today (all 1500), and I must say... I'm quite pleased w/ them. You can see previous posts about the techniques and applications here:

and

The top image shows what they look like just in general, and then the ones below just show what happens when you get them into lighting, and shows the reflective UV coating. I've gotten a really good response from them so far, so I figured I'd just post up the finals since most of you saw from the start.

Thx for the nice comps :D only real downfall to them is fingerprints, but as mauled as bcards usually get anyway... that's the least of my problems.. LoL

tasty stuff, its nice to see the finished article.
on another note, I think you might start a trend here, all types of b-cards posted on the forums, I imagine it ending up like that b-card scene from amercian psyco......

put a pencil or your finger next to those cards, so we get a feeling of their size (i thought it was a CD holder in first picture lol)

noice noice. Though it's hard to see the UV from the pics :(That's the point of UV... as explained in the previous posts. Also sounds like your monitor is way to dark... cause there is a lot of light put on those so you can see the reflection.

LoL strange. They are 15% smaller than an average bcard

yea i had to turn the brightness and contrast all the way up in order to see the UV on the backside of the card but it looks tight.

very nice Simp :) you don't see many bcards that uncluttered and the shape and gloss looks quality...I'm sure they look a lot better in life too :)
very nice I've seen a few bcards that shape and with the same minamilist approach but they didn't use gloss card and they looked very nice.

Man looks like you got a serious hook up on the printing. Dont even want to know what that would normaly cost. Either way they look sick.

 yes it would be rather expensive, the diecut and the UV cost together would send your costs into the 1000s. :D

Oh I dunno, I never got a quote ;) I just assume. I was also talking about 1500 cards UVd and diecut, but again... I don't know actual price :x. But I assure you my printer is no where near a ripoff artist. Even if he was he could be anyway... he's won the HOW Magazine Annual Print Award as well as Sappi Printer of the Year Award

What printer and what paper stock? And the cost for me was 1500 cards for $0 ;) so I dunno about more cards for less :P, I was gonna get 5000 but it seemed a tad overboard.

Just about any stock (in the case I mentioned it was a heavy semi-gloss, looked very nice with the UV coating)... my printer's a commercial printer and I've been running all of my business through him four a couple of years now - he treats me very well. And yes... FREE is much better than $320, I was just mentioning it so others could have an idea of what stuff like that costs in copy amounts I've delt with.
yeah 5000 cards is quite a lot... I usually do my personal ones in batches of 2000, otherwise I find I want to change something before I run out and end up wasting them.
Peace
when you asked 'what printer?' were you refering to the actual equipment?? If so he has just about everything under the sun, but for excellent quality in 2 - 4 color printing I always go with a 1 ton press he has, unbeatable quality - sometimes old school is better! ;)

haha.... actually the UV ones were not for me, they were for a client and they're not done yet... I decided to go 'plain-jane' (2-sided, 2 color, press printed) on my cards this time 'round.

I actually picked them up today!

I dont have biz cards yet....lol. But mine are going to be real tight. I have the comp just never took it all the way. But Sims biz cards are by far one of the tightest I have seen. Good biz cards are like a firm handshake in this biz.

Well you have to choice A: take them all the way and post pics of the finished cards. or B: post the comps and then take them all the way and then post pics of the finished cards! :P

You speak the word of God on that one! I cannot agree more.... and I also think it really does extend to many other areas of business - granted a welder doesnt have to have a kicken' card, but there are many other industries that do.
Peace
