I'm trying a script that passes javascript information (from a site completely different to mine) to php.
Could you tell me if the page actually finds a location near you and if you get any pop ups ?
(since I only have 1 IP I can't really test if the script works globally :sigh: )
Cheers

edit: yup, I forgot to post the URL earlier http://www.b52.free.fr/loc/

no pop-ups. The location was in the same state but on the other side. So if that's the general result you are looking for, it did work.

Cool. I just wanna get a general idea of where people live (a tad more precise than countries)...
I'll show my code once I'm done with the SQL table

Well, it's the nearest knot in DSL grouping (or closest internet relay central)...
Mine shows 'Grenoble' which is somewhere around 10 miles where I really live. Harish are you really far from baltimore ? (I don't want to log location that have actually nothing to do with the IP really)
Thanks Thomeu, I'm working on mysql log right now (i've never touched databases before, but it sure looks fine) so the table is empty...

Right, I finished the SQL thingy. Coding is dirty, but it should work, and I didn't know any php/mysql 3 days ago....

It's an IP log, but the location is fetched from a site that delivers the location service as a javascript code on your page, and 1 out of 10 times or so there's a crappy ad.
