Hey guys I have just finished building my portfolio site to house some of my graphic design work I have done over the last few years. Most of the work is college / university briefs.

Anyways check it out, hopefully it should work & validate as ive tried to make it XHTML & CSS compliant!

Thanks,

Dan

i myself love it, very simple, but not boring,

I would change the text for "print & web design" and make that a little crisper white it looks to blurred. Page titles are a smidge big in font size for me too.

I would use the line of dots (sorry best way to describe it) but i would put a second one on the right side at the bottom and add you "site credits there its too out of place under the menu on the left side.

Other than that i think its great myself... but thats just MHO

I like it, but I noticed a couple of things that you might want to fix. On the about page you have borders on the w3c buttons. On the portfolio page, the squares start off as strange sizes before the pictures load, so I would set them to the same size as the pictures.

i like the simplicity of it. straight to the point. the only thing i would change is on the portfolio page, after clicking a picture the "info:" text on the sidebar seems a little to faint. but other than that i like your work. :thumb:

Well it's definately simple and to the point. Wouldn't you want to use anything else besides just a banner at the top?

Dan, like the site a lot, just spotted a typo on the about page,
[All photos and imagery was created / modified in Adobe Photoshop.]
and just a personal thing, but those w3c complient buttons are really ugly (which I know is not down to you) but the colours stand out too much. Perhaps you could take them into photoshop, desaturated them and added a blue wash so they blend in to the colour scheme.

I think its missing a few secondary colors, at the moment the only color is the header image, this makes the rest of the site look a little bland, I'm sure if you threw in a few more colors it may take away from this...but at the moment it just looks to plain.

too plain I think

on your Portfolio descriptions for each piece - the left text runs too close to the image -- it overflows the 'margin' past the line at the top (if you look at it you will see what I mean -- if you extend the dashed line down it would cut the text off

After looking at your site and looking at your portfolio, you have great graphic design work.

I would HIGHLY suggest making your portfolio website look more like at "graphic design piece", like the great looking stuff you have in your portfolio rather than the standard 'top banner, left navigation' website. After looking at your portfolio, there is so much potential to turn anyone of those pieces into a website. I look at my website as it's own piece of art, it's not just a place to house all of my designs, it's showcasing my design talent, of which, judging by your portfolio, you've got alot of!! So put your design talents to work and you can have a killer portfolio site lickity-split ;)
