how do i make a folder private on xp pro. i have my own userand my brothers have their own. so i need to make some folders private. there is one folder wich is private but i dont know how did it become private. there is no security tab in the properties of the folder. so does anybody know how?

make a folder, name it whatever you want. Right-click, select
properties, the Sharing tab. There's a checkbox for making that
folder private.

yes but that button is grey u cant click it

1 of 2 things then:
1. you are not an administrator, but I don't think that's the reason.
2. the folder has to be made inside your My Documents. I forgot
to mention that part, sorry.

still did not work:-\ :*(
but u i copied the folder that is private and deleted what is inside the copied folder this way now i have 2 private folders. i had to do that.:)

hmm, well maybe it is cuz of administrator rights....interesting. I'll
research that a bit and see...
Even still, that's cool you got it to work. :)
