The company I work for, Medtech, which does medical billing for doctor's and hospitals does not currently have any type of logo, or anything that really identifies them other than the name. I've been off-and-on working on a website for the new software that I'm coding, and I'm not entirely sure what to do for a logo. http://www.medtech.ws/test shows what I have right now... I threw the heading together after some experementation, and the only reason it hasn't changed is because no one seems to really have any better ideas. What do you think I should do? I'm looking for some suggestions on either what kind of logo I should try to make, or if I should even bother...

Thanks!

the real question to determine that is if they are paying you extra to create an identity for them. if they just expect you to do a logo because you're doing a web page for no extra cash then tell them to sodd off.

identity can make or break a company so be sure they are paying you extra if you're going to give them a logo.

I think he's a full time employee because he started with "The company I work for, Medtech" ;)

I'd say drop the red cross, it doesn't fit with the rest of the page.

On top of my head I'd go for some sort of billing sheet (or a plain rectangle looking like a sheet) and add the medic's logo thingy: http://www.thermalp.ch/photos/soins/vertical/medecine.gif

give it a bit of perspective... keep it white. I dunno. But not the cross.

Well IMO there is no doubt that every company needs some sort of branding. With that being said you really got to look at the demographics or who is your audience. If your audience is basically 35-50 year old doctors then go traditional and distinguished. but if your audience is medical billers ranging from 18-27 then you can go a little more edgy and techy. Also look at the competition and see what they are doing. If still nothing clicking you can always farm out to a developer who is friendly, reasonable, charming and good at what he does *cough* DDD *cough*.

This is the company I work for indefinately, it's not a client or anything, so I think creating some type of Identity would only help. I appreciate the suggestions. Most of the competition websites seem to be pretty cheesy - I've found a lot that look like Frontpage templates, but I think we can go to a more classy logo... I'll come up with some ideas and post them here. Thanks!

Make a version which uses a new logo you have made and a version which jus has a plain type heading (be sure to make the logo version better :P)

and then say if they want the logo version they hav to pay more

:D mua ha haa im such a scammer

but really it works well for them, they get a logo which they previously didnt hav
