I've been creating these games at my job. We design and market slot machines to Indian casinos and we've begun to put playable Flash versions on our website. After a lot of trial and error we've been able to get the playing speed close to the real thing ( some of these play snappier than others) but in general I find they play way better on a pc than on a Mac.

At work I do my creating on a 1.5Ghz Dell Precision 330 and how they play on that machine has been my benchmark. I'm a Mac guy at home. I've got a 400Mhz G4 and when I look at the games there, it can be disheartening!

This hasn't been an issue til now. One of our salesmen in OK happens to have a Mac laptop and wants to show the Flash games to prospects, so now it's an issue.

Any suggestions or ideas about getting the animations to play faster, both on the Mac or in general? Also, any info on why the platform difference would be appreciated.

Basically, no. Flash has always run worse on a Mac. This is due to the actual Flash player though, not the OS. Flash player 8 is supposedly going to fix this issue.

I would hope so.. I was deving some flash stuff and once it got heavy it would run UBER slow on a mac and that was a Dual Processor system too. (Dual 1.8 ghz g4 I believe)

your aware that duel doesnt make a difference mabans? flash only runs on one thread i beleive so it would only be running 1.8ghz processor speed max.

and flash 8 will rock!

Yeah I understand but one would assume that if there is a system dual processor system, with over 2 gigs of ram flash developing would be a breeze. So, again, lets hope they are able to take full advantage of the 2x proc. PS, illus., along with a slew of other graphic progs do..

Just out of curiousity, how close/accurate are these to the actual slot machines? The actual slots are programmed in Flash, are they?

Don't know to the mechinical ones. But I would assume to a digital one it should be close since it all involves programming, depending on the experience of the programmer.
