quick question... is there a way to position an object in illustrator with a keyboard input (shapes, text, guides etc.) i have been trying to figure it out but i still just use the info box.

it would be much quicker to set up guides for documents if it were possible to just type in the xy coordinates.

in cs2 you have a dock bar that has x and y editable coordinates. I am pretty sure cs1 had something similar too (though not on a dock).

AHA! found it..

view/transform

yeah cs2 range is pretty nice.. i really dig the dock in illustrator, but yeah just use transform pallette... its the same deal ;)

(remember for rules you need to unlock them before you can manipulate their position)
