That's crazy. I use PS7 and for about two months, that option stopped working for me too. I didn't reinstall, but I did delete the prefs, and nothing worked. I had to use the toolbar, which obviously was a slight pain. Then one day it was working again. I have no idea why. My only advice is to perhaps wait two months?

i found that when i had trillian or some other chat application it contained shortcuts similar to what photoshop had and would in a way disable or not allow you to do the command in photoshop. Once i got rid of the chat program everything was back to normal. :)

Wow, why didn't I figure that out? It was Trillian. Thanks a lot for that suggestion!

Bingo! I discovered that aswell. In this case you can simply use Ctrl+Alt+Shift+I. I was trying to look smart by just giving the answer though. :)

LMAO!!! Now that's just flippin GHETTO. A program that you have universally disables key functions when it's not even in focus.

If I recall correctly, ICQ did the same thing years ago. What's so important about chat clients that they need to override all other running applications? Aren't they about the least necessary programs we could possibly run?

Hey thanks soulty, I installed trillian and I noticed mine stopped working as well. How in the hell you figured that out I will never know.

^ haha well one of the keyboard shortcuts would if i remember correctly select a user in the userlist or create a chat window, so i just put 7 and 5 together and got uhhh 12? lol call it trial and error i guess :P

If you want to keep Trillian running but disable the keyboard shortcuts, you can do the following to get rid of them (this works with Trillian 3.1 Basic):
Close Trillian
Find the file \Program Files\Trillian\users\default\Events.xml
Open it with Notepad
Search for the word "hotkey". You will find the following entries:
<EventItem type="Hotkey%3A%20Ctrl%2DShift%2DI" enabled="1">
<HotkeyEvent type="event" alt="0" shift="1" control="1" scan_code="1507329" key="73"/>
<ProgramAction type="action" actionText="Events: Next Event"/>
</EventItem>
<EventItem type="Hotkey%3A%20Ctrl%2DShift%2DA" enabled="1">
<HotkeyEvent type="event" alt="0" shift="1" control="1" scan_code="1966081" key="65"/>
<ProgramAction type="action" actionText="Contact List: Toggle Visible"/>
</EventItem>
<EventItem type="Hotkey%3A%20Ctrl%2DAlt%2DC" enabled="1">
<HotkeyEvent type="event" alt="1" shift="0" control="1" scan_code="539885569" key="67"/>
<ProgramAction type="action" actionText="Trillian: Open Connection Manager"/>
</EventItem>
Delete all of this text (setting them to enabled="0" doesn't help as the program will still reserve the shortcuts)
Save the file
Restart Trillian
It will now no longer hijack the three shortcuts CTRL+SHIFT+I, CTRL+SHIFT+A, CTRL+SHIFT+C.
