A logo for a surfwear shop.
What do you think?

It is pretty, but something in me wants it to be more dynamic - this looks more like a splash than a great surf wave. Some more visual energy might make it "stand out from the crowd" better.

I really like it, great job :thumb:
One thing that feels awkward is the end of the wave. It's too straight a line, and I feel it should instead be curved.

I'd like it more if the wave didn't get cut off like that, but great overall.

i like the font but it seems ood to me that a surfforever logo mark is a wave that gets cut off/ never really starts/ isn't a wave that would go on forever... I think u definately gotta work on the wave, what font is that? Any more info about the company?

Nah, I really like this logo it's really good I love the colours and I hope that your client is very pleased with such a masterpeice. I think the little wave bit could simblize a different style of surf wear, you know that'll make it stand out from the rest.
Nice work it's wicked keep it up.
Thanks
Danny.

did you design the type? The 's' and the 'f' need some work, but it is coming along very well

Thanks guys for your comments!
Actually, the font was modified in almost every point.
I didn't like much the S.. but I think it's turned out ok.
I agree with you that the wave seems to be cutted off, but that is the point.
You need to surf for ever not the wave.
The 3 drops of water above this would never exist if the wave wasn't like that.
But I'll try another version of that graphic, with what pyrophone suggested.
It HAS to be dynamic anyway.
Apologize my bad English... =\

I think if it were just slightly curved it would work well, not necessarily continue to make a large curve.

I really like the colours and design but it's a beat weak. As mentioned, it looks more like a splash than a monstrous wave. Make it more dynamic and dangerous! Don't get me wrong - the design is amazing but, from what I know, surfers are really daring so a bolder design might be needed.

Very nice, but like the other said, it ends very abrubtly. I would like to see it finished off nicely.

I agree with all that, its looking great though, work on it a bit more and bobs your uncle :thumb::D
EDIT: Oh nice colours used as well!!

It's OK, but I don't think the pink fits here. I mean, it fits with the blue, but not sure with the concept of surfing.

since when is surfing presented by a specific color?

I agree it should be curvyer, not a full wave, but curvyer (I know that's not a word).
Otherwise, nice colours, great job!

I'm not a fan. I liked the other one a lot more, just with a slightly less hard edge.

Maybe if you took the top wave off it'll look good.

The other was better - this one feels kind of clunky to me. Could the wave curve around over the end and splash back on the text?

I like the first one better -- btw how'd you do the wave?
I did a sample one to show a wave coming over the end...my wave
is awful, but I did it in 2 min. just for a quick suggestion

- I think you should try and go with this one because if you think of the word forever, your waves in this specific logo are mimicking that continuous, infinity effect that is working in this design.
- I still think the waves could use some work, though. :thumb:
- EDIT: And your choice of colors are working very, very, very, very well.

Right, but in CorelDraw, how did you make the waves?
Just a brush, or did you 'stroke a path' or did you use shapes and delete around it
What method did you actually use to create it

thanks for the comment ~The Who~!
And I agree that the last one show that continuous, infinity effect, that you said, I tought the same while making this version.
Vamp9190, I've used the Bezier tool, making point to point and editing here and there.

what if you try doing half the wave top & bottom -- like the light blue part on bottom, darker on top.
Or the full wave bottom, half on top.
The reason I say that is because it looks a bit too bulky.
Also I liked the splash from the first version, can you add that in somewhere?

Did you start with a shape and make it smaller?

sorry..what do you mean make it smaller? =\
I just drew the 3 points and next I added anchor points, adjusting here and there...

Yeah, I just suck with the pen/curves tool -- I duplicated yours just to practice -- but I did it on top of the logo so I could see where to make the adjustments.
That is hard to do from scratch I'm sure.

Thanks, good to know that!
Vamp9190, it's hard only in the begining, but you are doing the right thing! Practice makes perfection! hehe
Try to do this using the shape tool and draw a rectangle, next delete one anchor point and make the adjustments.

i like it, but i think the type is getting pinched by the two large waves, i might make the top one smaller, or give it some breathing room

YEP! I think clean curve shapes are the hardest to do in Corel or PS.
Did you think about a single wave top/bottom or full bottom / half top? (see my post 3 before you put up the photo)

what if you try doing half the wave on top & half on the bottom -- like the light blue part on bottom, darker on top.
Or the full wave bottom, half a wave on top.
Just to compare how it balances out.
