The scrollbar on the left is a little annoying.

I love the background. You're really good at this!

Just make your own scrollbar, very simple AS and supercustomisable :) I'm sure there's a tutorial on Kirupa for it.

There some scrollers already made in the best of kirupa thread and Source and experiments. They are very good. BTW the component scroller from macromedia, it is impossible to edit it or change the color. Thats goes for all built in components. nice design btw :thumb: gj

That's not true, it's perfectly possible to re-skin a component. There are tutorials on that subject.

Make a preloader, first of all. Change the scroller and the font in it. The window is very big, while the main site is only a small window in the very center. Some are still on 1024, like me and I have to scroll to see the site fully. Don' like the color scheme and trasformed pattern. The site is rough and doesn't an eye-catching. Also, the mail button doesn't work correctly - it opens a new window: mailto:admin@humanbloom.com. So, that's it.

I prefer it to your last layout, its not bad, but maybe that shade of green is a bit flat ?? think it needs more contrasting colours maybe..

Also make the links to other sites open in new windows, i hate having to navigate back to try another link.

And the background, make it tiled on the HTML page itself and then have the flash movie over that, rather than tiling the flash movie as on my browser settings you end with loads of white space around the edges.

Finally, why is it on flash ? no offense its pretty decent but it doesnt need to be a flash site really, unless of course you have future plans for it.

Well my hosting is through yahoo , so they do offer a sitebuilder type thing, but they are so fluky in the way it sets up & how its hard to change anything as far as size. Other than that I dont know where else to build it at?

The reason I made it where it opens up in the same page is when I made my main page everyone suggested that I make the links open up in the same page. :worried:

I'm only about 6 months into flash and websites and ps, so I think I am missing alot of common knowledge ???

Still think the white background ruins it, should have your pattern in the background to.

This is so much better it's not even funny.

Just make the background tile across the whole screen and you're in business.

I like the site a lot, but the content is too plain for the great background and layout you have.

Ah i see what the problem is.
Youve made a big movie hoping it will fill the users browser.

But im using FF on resolution of 1152 x 864
And trust me you end up with quite a bit of white space.

Why dont you just make the movie fit to the size of the content and just put your tile pattern on the html behind ?

ha ha

you need to centre the flash in your html ...

it may be best to post the .swf and one of us will do it. also post a .jpg section of your repeating pattern so we can set it to the bckd...

Oh...ok do you know anything about HTML, if so its pretty easy to do, just go to <Body> properties and rather than specifying a colour you specify a picture to be tiled.
Im sure there must be some tutes here on kirupa or on google for it

So go into dreamweaver and put "C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\My Pictures\tiledoothingy" in the body section you mentioned?

Yeah except dont include the pathname from your computer, as it will be different when uploaded to you server.

If your tile is going in the same directory as the html page on your server then just put the file name with NO path at all.
EG: mytilething.jpg
