yes, I did and thats the part of the site I'm talking about
I'm gonna be harsh cause it's what people like to read :thumb:
it's terrible, truly bad. The buttons you mention are way too big, bulky, amateurish, horrible, just bad bad buttons.
Go back to the drawing board. Learn design. Browse some of the web sites below and look at what you should be aspiring towards. I'm not saying you should be producing sites like this but it gives you something to shoot towards

Take critisism and learn from it. Don't defend yourself against it. You'll never get better that way. :)

Im glad to see your trying but, im sry it is just too... plain...boring...ugly. Make it more iteresting by not only using squares and that plain font. Just me opinion.
btw when rab said to check those sites out for inspiration he meant to look at the links inside of those sites. Not the sites themselves. They are awards sites and give away awards too really cool flash sites. http://www.internettinyawards.com/ thats another good awards site.

 I'm sorry dude, but you need to keep practicing. The good side? At your age, it is GREAT for you to get interested in web design. Think of this... in a couple of years you'll be able to do way better things, if you put your effort into it. But for now, KEEP PRACTING AND GET USED TO TAKE THE HEAT!:skull:

Company? You're 12.
You do need to learn more, probably not about flash, but about design. The buttons are ugly.
lol @ love police.

Hey, good start. At least you could actionscript at 12. At 12 I was wandering around Neopets. :)
Unfortunately, I think you need to work on your design a little more. The gradient of the buttons make them look too amateurish. There are buttons with gradients that are well-made. You can look up tutorials to do them. A little photoshop won't hurt either.
Look at good websites more, it improves your sense of style. If you're into the metallic look, there're lots of sites around that do it well. A search on Google will also reveal how to make them.
Keep at it!

I just realized this post was from two years ago so hopefully useful to someone if not the original thread starter :D

Ok so I looked at your site and it reminded my of my website when I was your age. I got interested in web design and spent alot of time learning and reading about html. ALOT of time. SO finally I decided to make something. Several months ago I discovered that it still exists on geocities. I used to have games and stuff on the website but those got removed.
This is my site. www.geocities.com/natashavg (http://www.geocities.com/natashavg). It sucks. It took time.
If you search "free css templates" you can find MANY templates for sites. They will include html, css, and image files. You WANT to learn css. I don't know why no one ever told me that it existed. There are alot of tutorials for css like this tutorial for a button (http://sophie-g.net/jobs/css/e_buttons.htm).
Yeah your site needs alot of work and that's fine because there are alot of reasources out there to help you get going.
I searched for css templates, menu codes, etc to study and learn.
I searched through css tutorials.
I went throught the lynda.com as3 flash tutorials and messed with Illustrator and Photoshop in my spare time.
Searched through forums.
It helps to find a site you like and try to duplicate it. This helps you learn new things and gets your programming moving if you don't have an eye for design.
Also a big help is critiquing other peoples work. When you start noticing what doesn't work, you limit your own use of them. What I think would be kindof neat would be to have a thread where people link to a site and critique it. Not just saying this is a great or awful site but actually explaining why.
(oh, and css can do great things but it is still possible to get a poor looking site using it so looking at other peoples css sites and finding out why they look good is a good idea. Look at WHY sites work AND why sites don't)
//edit. . I just found this really interesting site. You load their page which is OK but not that great. Actually it is one of the submissions. Then you go to view all the submissions that have been made. Each submission is a css file to the EXACT same html file. Every submission has a different feel and it shows how simple and fundamental css is. It is a really cool idea. I've seen this done with tables but not websites.
here is the site (http://www.csszengarden.com/?cssfile=/040/040.css&page=3)
