View Full Version : AE - Opacity locked in text preset effects!

Hey guys, I was messing with the text effect presets and in the Help -> Text Preset Gallery , it shows a lot of the effect (such as Vanishing Point) having the letters fade in as they animate in. Trouble is, in RAM and final export, the opacity doesn't change at all!

This leaves the effect looking not quite as good as the preview in the help page.

Any ideas?

More like blurring than opacity... the way it looks in the gallery looks a lot better... but it doesnt look that way when I apply the effect.

did you render it out? Basically when you view in with ram previews of seeking with the timeline bar and you dont have the master motion blur button on you will not see the effect (only when you render) .. to turn it on check my tutorial section 'Animating with keyframe' under ROTATION.

Yeah did you switch on the motion blur ? Did you switch on frame blending ?

What is frame blending? I have motion blur on and even when I render it out (make movie) it doesn't show any blurring :(

Edit: Okay, I've checked mition blur and frame blending ON in the timeline and it still won't blur when I do make movie (lossless) or RAM.

I have pro... standard is for squares :P

anyway, in that project file are 2 text layers with different effects, the top one is not visible, thats the one which has blue flash effect on it, except blue flash isnt coming blue. the bottom (initially visible) has vansihing point on it.

Here: (and somehow dont ask me how but winrar compressed 50 kb to 5.5 kb :D)

oh and I don't think we have the latest AE (it's probably v6.0) I don't know which version you have or if it's gonna be any problem to exchange files.
