It's sad that the dad had just started working there, it looks like they could have used some money to buy a chair...or something.

That's pretty sad. If I landed a decent job at Microsoft and had to sign an NDA, I'd kill my kid for doing that. Poor guy. That kid should be beaten.

Well it looks like I'm going to have to clear some more space out for the 360's Power Supply, reminds me of the Mac mini.
You see this tiny weeny bitty Mac, and then a power supply that almost matches it in size :P
Cool photos though, stuff like this always gets leaked, hell its probably Microsoft that did it as a publicity stunt :/

What I find funny about this whole story is that if his dad 'just started working at Microsoft', then why would they give him an XBox 360 way before it's due for release?
lostinbeta
July 18th, 2005, 10:27 PM
Because part of his fathers job was to test the hardware in the XBox 360 to make sure all is in working order before release.

Yeah but surly they woulden't give it to a brand new employee, if you ask me, MS walked right into it...

Why not? They hired him for a reason. Would you hire someone and be like 'well you can start, but you won't get the equipment to actually start your job for a while'? That just doesn't make sense.

If that was my kid, not that i have any, i'd lock the kid in his room after i cleaned everthing but one dull book and his bed.
You are in there until ur pubs turn white or u move out! u get to go to the toilet, eat and go back to the room... Summer vacation would allow that! If money allowed i'd put him in military school or the army...

My friend gets to play with her dad's xbox360, but only to help him test it (try to break it). From what I hear she mostly fools around with the dashboard... apparently she got it to break so that smoke started coming out of it once.

No but it would make sense to give a console to someone in the team you could trust more, I personally wouldent give a new employee a brand new un-released console, id only give it to someone I could trust, whatever thier job description was.
It could be any old shmuk who just wants to get their hands on a 360...

Plus: they make him sign his life away.

I'm sure he had NDA's up the wazoo, so as far as they were concerned, if the guy cared about his job, and the rest of his life, he was trusting.
It was in his job to test the 360, so they gave him one, I dont know why its so hard to believe lol, its in the job description.

That is pretty big, but still not as big as the last one. What do you guys expect?!?! This puppy has 3 dual cored 3.2GHz processors, a CRAZY ATi card, and a water cooling system. I'm surprised it's not a tower!

disco - are you referring to the pic in T-O's post? I think the XBOX in T-O's image has been doctored up to look that large. It looks a lot smaller in the actual article pics: http://www.joystiq.com/entry/1234000370050882/ :hitman2:

Anyone know what the policy on this would be? Would the dad be charged with breaking the NDA when he didn't actually do it himself? I guess it might vary from company to company depending on if there is a clause for this sort of thing or not. Anyone who knows about this kind of stuff care to enlighten me?

Does anybody wonder why the tv isn't in front of him, and it's not really facing him?
