you pretty much follow the same idea for each device you use, some use keyboard style editors and such - the editor is pretty complex.

okay so, question, i click play on the transport and both my seqencer track and the redrum start playng, creating a stacked effect.. how do i only get one of them to play?

on the redrum you'll notice a little square that says - "enable pattern selection"
once you copied it to the sequencer click that off -
orange glow means its enabled
white square means its disabled

Hey PR that above mentioned tip for the ReDrum doesn't work for the Matrix Pattern Sequencer..

the matrix pattern sequencer is an "effect" much like the rv7000 reverb machine - it affects the other instrument machines - you edit the pattern in the actual machine and it then affects the machine you applied it to -
say for example, make a subtractor, get a patch/sample for it, copy it into the sequencer, set up your music for it on the piano timeline, then click the subtractor in the rack, then create a matrix pattern sequencer, click play, then toy around with the matrix pattern settings -
