I have a questions though. How does he make his pictures that crisp and large, but still load up so quickly? any idea?

Not only does he take great images, but he's also a Flash God I guess. ;)

machuse is right, the site loads in like 3 or 4 secs. Ive seen some other sites with smaller images load slower.

Well the photos are really classy and pretty good, but i dont see any big wow about the loading times ??

Its ok but not amazing, and the navigation sucks a bit i think.

But to answer the original questions,
They are crisp cause they are taken with a good camera on high res by a good photographer.
And each set loads dynamically only updating the picture as the next one loads thus meaning you dont have to wait for the whole set to load at once.

good camera = good pics!

also

precompression = bad!
if you are going to be importing an image into the flash stage, don't compress it at all, use the compression setting inside of flash. this goes for audio too. yes, that means keep the picture size at 3MB, flash will compress it cleaner than a double compression with it and fireworks/photoshop.

Now I wonder if this 'trueArt' is nothing more than doing levels, etc. in PS -- for most people they would have no clue anyway

trueart>exhibit prints -- Looks like Step 2 is levels / color saturation

Then step 3 is more saturation with some gaussian blurs applied to selected areas

What do you think?

the site's not that bad, man... the photos are amazing. and did you guys see the money made off of just one wedding? we should all quit our jobs and take wedding photos... he's making around $5,000 per wedding package... he probably does what... one every week or two? ;)

I agree. You can easily edit an image to look like this in photoshop. Won't even take that long. In step 5 it looks as if he's just added some noise... I don't think he tries to hide that this is just photoshopping tho, he probably just wanna demonstrate it to people with no clue.

Yeah but you still need to be a good photographer with a good camera.

well it sure helps, but you still need to be a good photographer as well. and this guy apparantly is though I'm not to keen on wedding photography...

I like this better for instance: http://www.lanting.com/portfolios.html

Well the point is that he only does weddings. It is much harder to make weddings look visually stunning than taking wildlife & jungles and landscapes.

It's like creating the same graphics using MS Paint vs. PS -- well maybe not to that extent, but you get the idea.

truArt..his trademark cause NO body uses the RAW format....right...his pictures are awesome but that grain effect he does SUCKS. It makes the picture look soooooo bad and all his editing is in photoshop...and its trademark'd. Whatever he wants to do haha
