nice. simple. good graphics. need to make the logo in the top left clearer though. looks like you've try to do a "magic marker through the lettering" effect but it dsnt work. also, wot res is it designed for?

1, it does work... it is how I want it to look...
2, it is designed for any rez. Peple need to not be lazy and learn how to scroll from left to right as well as up and down.

I am really not feeling this site.... It is functional and all but nothing to show stopping. But simple is good.

no need for self preservation. you need to remember that the idea of a good website is one that appeals to as many ppl as possible.
Peple need to not be lazy and learn how to scroll from left to right as well as up and down.
it's really the content that makes it sweet. look around brethren.
That shows that you dont care who likes it, aslong as you do.

That's true... it's my site, I like it...therefore I am happy.
People need to jump of the whole "Web Standards" bandwagon and become creative and make sites that are unique and different from all the other crap.

Don't like it, not even the content, sorry.
It's got that "this site is made in an hour"-feel for me.

well from what i've heard, your site isnt suitable for "showcase and critiques". it'd be more suitable for "this is my site, i designed it for me and no-one else, i love it so fek off if you dont"

Totally agree with you. I'm tired of every website and every blog looking the same, because they wanna follow "rules" and "standards" and live up to the "requirements."

So you rather want a site that looks good for you, but virtually no one will ever see or like because it's never gonna show up on search engines and will be messed up in all kinds of browsers?

I'm not talking about not showing up in search engines, I'm talking about creativity and how the site looks in graphical terms and spacing terms. Every single blog out here is invented with rectangles and perfect looking content areas (which isn't bad), but we need some more unique-ness out here.
To tell you the truth, a site good for me is one that's just a bit different from the rest, I really couldn't care if anyone cant see, as long as it works on FF. Search engines? Not gonna change my life. I can't give a damn about that stuff, cause functionality is gonna work either way in the end.
I'm tired of everyone saying "I wanted a simple site", so they end up using CSS and making it look like any other site out here and boosting their ego with forum critiques.
You just gotta understand what I mean, if you take it and turn it into some textbook thing it won't work out.
PS. I never said to not follow the standards, I meant a lot of people try to stick to the standards so much it kills their creativity and ideas. Seems like they are afraid to take the chance to add detail and change the design with there own style/twist.

So true Reef.
Besides this isn't the 90's. Most browsers support the same things now days. Who cares if on one browser the text is a little bigger or a little smaller... really, it never makes much of a difference. And what do you mean "a site that only looks good to me."? I am sure that I am the only one using FF and IE on an XP platform... I'm The only one viewing the site whith those crazy programs... you boob.
Conclusion, I would rather have a site that looks the way I want it to some, than a site that looks like crap for everyone.

_saru_, I don't know if you have any plans in making websites for a living, but that attitude won't do you any good ...
I mean, the things you describe are just sloppy rather than creative or whatever you want to call it.
It's true that sometimes those standards kill creativity, but the web is also based on trends and styles. If a certain layout appeals to alot of people then webdesigners will often copy it. Not because they lack creativity but because they have to make a succesful site and make a living out of it.

Hey mans. So, if it is his personal site and he likes it, no worries. True: if he plans on doing that for a living, hes gonna shoot himself in the foot with a frickin rocket launcher, but yeah. Oh well.
Personally, I didn't really like it either but not strongly anti versus it... like I would NOT say "Oh man! This is crappy, crapful, crapness, and just very very crap" or anything like that. [hey, that sounded like Strong Bad...]. With lots of crap:

ooh first post..
bah.. scrw the trends. not breaking rules is like inbreed.
and if noone ever break the standards you wont have new trends anyway.
theres alot of commercial sites with a bit more "alternative" styles.
as long as you do it good you can sell any design..
to the site then.. its cool, and the titles on each page are great. (spraypaint is cool.)
and i totally agree with the last six things on the oh crap, dumb things list. yea.

Don't like any of it, the layout has no structure, there really isn't a colour scheme, scrolling left and right is extremely irritating, and there isn't anything attractive on it at all. Just my opinion, i'm not really sure why you put it into showcase and critiques when you don't care what anyone else thinks about your site.

So true, when you ask real people to critique it, bah. There gonna REALLY critique it! But I was just joking, saru with the crap thing, it yours, for you, and you like it. No problem.
