quick question...is there a trick to printing from a standard home inkjet printer w/ no margin on the page? say you want a photo to bleed over the edge or some letter head to print all the way to the edge of the document...is this possible by tweaking printer/software settings normally, or is it just not done on home printers?

thanks in advance

I dont think so with a home printer due to the print head set up. Not really setup for overspray. If it is possible please let me know too. I have tried for quite sometime.

It depends on the printer you have. I stand by Epson printers... I personally recommend the Epson Stylus Photo 1280 it's effective, prints w/ no borders and it's pretty cheap... oh not to mention it's a 6 color printer which is absolutely great for detail and color.

Actually I was just coming in to say that epsons do. My friend has a 925 photo and I believe his does this. But these are not real standard printers. I believe agent fitz is talking about the bubblejets and inkjets. Like the kind that comes with a mid range dell.

yeah these may be a bit more high-end that my 'lil hp:

don't think it's possible w/ this one :td: with that in mind, maybe you guys know of a company that does a good job of high volume production of stationary, envelopes, etc. that bleed to the edge...?

pretty much any professional printers should have that ability or they should not be in business. That being said I am in Cali so I cannot help you with a printer that is local to you. I recommend always try to find a local printer so you can go in and talk to them in person and see their setup and everything. (Avoid Kinkos)

Yes, definitely avoid Kinko's. That said, I know JanusTG does great full-bleed printing on business cards, flyers, brochures, etc. You'd have to contact them directly to see if they could do exactly what you wanted, though. Here's their web site (no, I don't work for them :) ) :

btw, normally full bleed will cost you extra, as opposed to printing w/o a bleed edge. The reason being that the printer has to print on larger stock and then trim the bleed edge, so everything looks nice and pretty. check w/ Janus, tho. They might be able to do what you want and I don't think they charge you more for full bleed.
