HElp me with this Photograph

i have a photograph of my friend's family members...
he asked me to edit it like ...the middle person...should be a bit taller than the other 2 on the left and right...i can't attach the photograph...but attaching a reference image....in case u do not getting my point...

How to do this in Photoshop ?

wouldn't it be a case of cutting out the person you want to be taller and then pasting on new layer and enlarging (to a degree that is not so obvious) and then clone and heal the background's holes.

also if need be maybe doing to same to the other two ppl on either side but making the smaller..?
