I just got 3dsmax, I had played around b4, but never did too much. Now I need to become more proficient with it. Anyone know of any good sources for learning more.. like book titles that are pretty in depth and advanced? thanks.

Awesome sources, I already knew about a few, but I will check into the others. One issue I am having trouble with specifically as well is the creation of 'glass'. I can use the rendering material option in 3dS7 for transluscent material and set my opacity down but all I get is a dull grey. I have tried to turn up the refraction and gloss and specularity, but no luck. I found only one tutorial so far, but it is a 3DS5 and following the commands in 3dS7 is really confusing. Any sources for that one?
Thanks again to all for the cool online sources!!!! Excellent help!

you need to know the refraction index to get good glass wich I think is like 2.1 (google refraction index). Plus alot of people forget to put something to reflect in the scene. Also you have to be sure to model the "air" polygons.

Thankyou for the refraction info... I tried this and it has made a big difference. Not sure what is meant by air polygons, but I'm going to look into it now. Appreciate the help!!!
