stop locking threads all the time.

I took the time to write out a response to lost and post it only to find out that the thread had been closed. It's very frustrating to have this happen. This is a random forum for us to talk. We were not getting "heated" and it wasnt becoming a "flame war"

They should simply make it more obvious that a thread is locked to prevent this.

For example, have the reply button go straight to a "This thread is closed" page, and have no auto-respond box for closed threads, along with little Padlock icons all over the place.

I think locking is a good way to prevent further ...flaming, without damaging the 'Freedom of Speech'-iness of this forum.

The only downsides are incidents like yours, SS.

sureshot, i think we handled that thread greatly. Try not to get too mad at the mods, its the other guy from the thread that started it to cause problems, be mad with him (i am). I must say sure that we are really alike, our posts almost mirrored each others.

soul : your posts get funnier and funnier

If there is any consolation in what I may say,
after reading the game thread it was clear to me that the only one *Kicking things up a notch* was UnGuito, all others were just responding but keeping it at a 'low-roar'

More so I didn't see that Lost's remark was directed at SShot but rather was a statement in forward thinking if you will

...I don't Game - no axes to grind here

Just my observation and take on it

Uncle Guito needs to tone it down a bit.

I was checking in on the canada taking over the world thread, I can't find it, I guess he responded with something unnecessary.

I set him straight after he was becoming extremely over-emotional on my nations' residents' nicknames. It was becoming offensive because I knew he wasn't kidding around, he was just retarded.

lol, he was retarded....

Calling someone retarded for their ignorance is just as bad as calling someone a commie based on ignorance.
I see your point aislin, but lowering yourself to your enemies level isn't a constructive way to handle it.
Sorry for buttin in.

I didn't mean it in an insulting way, I was being honest, and factual.

retarded: to cause to be slow, delay, or something.
retard: socially inept, foolish

He was repeating himself, not to mention the dozens of spelling mistakes, and insulting canadians.

"Yeah sombudy shold be shot for thatcause..."

Not insulting, though you can take it that way.

Edit:

We've gone over the canada thing before, anyways, nobody should be making Anti-Canadian//American rants in the first place.

Thanks man - I just really like this stuff. I have been a video game junkie for a long time. I dont get a ton of time to play games all the time but I still like learning about it.

I would say I surf more and find out info more than I do actually playing the games :) It's just a fun hobby for me.
