The colors rock! I love the green (my favorite color). Nice shading and design too. I agree that some text could help. But maybe not. It's your choice.

Have you tried the Save for Web option in Photoshop? It does a very good job of reducing the size. I had a footer that was 50 kb and got it down to 20kb with png24 (I had transparency in mine) and 9kb with png8 (i didn't have many colors so didn't care).
