any good after effects tutorials on creating particle type effects... not just animating lame text and .ai files...
seems like there are no tutorials for after effects or any type of community or forum for it?

check kirupa home page tutorials// motion /graphics ;)
regarding particles in AE, particle playground is a science in its self, the particles you see are mostly plugins.

its a filter which is part of After effects now (or has been for years now). but its not a easy filter to use, alot of videos and learning application i have watched and read regarding After Effects have by-passed the use of particle playground because it just not worth the effort, you can simulate particles with other filters anyway.

ah, is it something where you use code to create your own effects?
hmm what are some popular plugins for ae? they need a comunity site.

yeah sorta, i havent used it too much, effects created via custom code can also be "expressions" which are more commands using javascript than effects (although you can get effects from using expressions) usually expressions are used to control one element of a control with another control, like parenting but with more custom ability using javascript .. in regards to plugins, search the boards for after effects plugins we have quite a few threads already with plugin listings.

few questions on this quick overview of an ae effect...
the image that he uses, I used the 3d layer to make it like he has... but how do i make the black background transparent... instead of having the black background overlapping each other.
Did he use masking to make the rotation of the circles?

for this one.
I duplicate his text .gif many times in photoshop to get a larger 2900x1950 gif of the text.
when you zoom into the image in AE the text becomes p[ixelated.. what techniques did he use to have the text keep its appearance?
did he import the psd file or ai file?

for your second question if you look at the step there is a screenshot preview of the ai file which you will find that he did indeed create the text in Illustrator.
for your first question, he would of imported the psd file with a alpha channel and then look at step 2 and again at the screenshot to see how he rotated the duplicates.

thanks. but for the first one it doesnt tell you he makes the circles animate....
It cant be masking because the glow .mov the ends fade out... what parameters do that?

well step 2 shows you the filter/plugin he used, using that he probably animated some keyframes of that tool, play around with it and work it out.. ayota's tutorials are famous for not having a clear explanation but its not really for beginners.

k i figure that stuff out..
now im trying to figure out how he made that circular shape... polar coord on a line does not give you a perfect circle...
