Hey again.
I just posted my little rope simulation yesterday or the day before-I forget, I'm sleep deprived. I made a new one that I just finished a few hours ago, and decided I might as well show you guys.

I didn't realize this until after I finished that someone else used a very similar bit of code to simulate a string with a drooping midsection (I also forgot who made that one, refer above for explanation). Oh well, mine has some other elements involved as well.

This one's a rope with a set starting point and a weight attached to the other end. You can move the weight by clicking and dragging anywhere within the rope's length(basically anywhere that the weight could go while attached to the string). In the top right, move the slider bar to adjust the string's length.

Uh...have fun, I guess. Give me some comments-criticism, morale boosters, suggestions for this sim, suggestion for a new sim, etc. Anything goes.

why does it slow down when it is almost vertical?

What? I'm not sure what you're asking-you mean slow down as in the playback gets sluggish, or the weight literally slows down...or what? And by "almost vertical" do you mean up or down?

By the way, I think I know what hybrid is talking about. I don't believe a real rope would ever go perfectly straight on the opposite side after it's been "launched". Something about that does look a bit unnatural, I'm not sure exactly what.
